The Owl Howl is hearing that Valdosta State Head Coach David Dean is a new possibility for the Owls inaugural head coaching position.
Dean, 49, who was VSU’s offensive coordinator from 2000 through 2006, has already won two Division II National Championships since taking over head coaching duties from Chris Hatcher in 2007. He won his first title in his first season and his second this past season.
Dean is an excellent candidate for Kennesaw State. He’s a proven recruiter, has head coaching experience and would fit Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams’ criterion of “understanding Georgia.” What stands out to me is his ability to win titles five years apart, proving he do it with his own guys as well as the ones he inherited.
